Charter Issues Yesterday

In the morning severe weather in New York City took out the satellite uplink for Viacom stations (MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, HBO, Showtime, and CineMax). It was only for about an hour and the stations were back by 9:30 AM.

And a construction company cut a fiber bundle near Allendale, MI. This resulted in Internet traffic getting crammed onto a backup path. You may have noticed web sites seemed a little slower but I did not notice anything significant.

Fox Sports HD

Do you have Charter cable? Do you have HD service? Check channel 791 later this week as Fox Sports Detroit HD will be launching. One odd thing though is it will have color bars on it unless there is a game.

Google Maps Mashups 2.0

Under the "My Maps" tab.

This is a really neat application that I can envision many uses for such as layering house prices on top of a layer of number of dog owners for example.
